Job Description

Summary Hamilton High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our athletic department as an Assistant Golf Coach for the upcoming seasonal program. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of the game of golf, a passion for coaching young athletes, and the ability to foster a positive and competitive environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of student-athletes both on and off the course. Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Golf Coach in planning and implementing practice sessions and training programs.
  • Provide instruction on golf techniques, rules, and strategies to enhance players' skills and performance.
  • Support the recruitment and retention of student-athletes by promoting the golf program within the school and community.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of individual players, offering constructive feedback and encouragement.
  • Assist in organizing and managing golf tournaments and matches, including logistics and communication with opposing teams.
  • Ensure the safety and proper use of equipment during practices and competitions.
  • Collaborate with the Head Coach and other staff to develop team policies and guidelines.
  • Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect for opponents.
  • Communicate regularly with players and school administration regarding team activities and expectations.
  • Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay current with coaching techniques and best practices. Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of golf techniques, rules, and strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with other coaches and staff.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, during the golf season.
  • A passion for youth development and a commitment to fostering a positive athletic experience for all participants.
  • Ability to pass a fingerprint-based background check per school board policy.
