Job Description

Summary Hamilton Middle School is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to serve as a Cheer Coach for our Fall and Winter seasons. This position is focused on fostering teamwork, athletic skill development, and school spirit among our student athletes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cheerleading, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to creating a positive and inclusive environment for all participants. This position is open until filled. Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive cheerleading program that includes skill development, choreography, and team-building activities.
  • Plan and conduct regular practices, ensuring that sessions are engaging, productive, and aligned with the team's goals.
  • Teach cheerleading techniques, stunts, and routines, ensuring safety and proper execution.
  • Organize and oversee participation in performances, and community events.
  • Foster a positive team culture that promotes respect, sportsmanship, and collaboration among team members.
  • Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding schedules, expectations, and team updates.
  • Monitor the physical and emotional well-being of team members, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Maintain equipment and uniforms, ensuring that all materials are in good condition and available for use.
  • Attend all required meetings and training sessions related to coaching and cheerleading.
  • Adhere to all school policies and procedures, as well as state cheerleading regulations. Requirements
  • Previous experience coaching cheerleading or a strong background in cheerleading as a participant.
  • Knowledge of cheerleading techniques, safety practices, and competition rules.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for practices and events.
  • Current certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred.
  • Must pass a fingerprint-based background check and comply with all school district requirements for employment.
  • Passion for promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and school spirit among middle school students.
