DICKINSON STATE UNIVERSITY

DSU is looking to hire a Head Men's and Women's Men's and Women's Track Coach and other duties as assigned. T he Head Track & Field Coach is responsible for a highly competitive track & field program which competes in the Frontier Conference and NAIA. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: knowing and abiding by all University, NAIA, and Frontier Conference rules and regulations; coaching, recruiting, monitoring student athletes' academic progress, budgeting and scheduling, organization, and implementation of practice and game plans.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or higher in Physical Education, Exercise Physiology, or Sport Administration or closely related College or High School track & field coaching experience and recruiting experience Background in kinesiology and exercise science training. Software skills in MS Office Suite, including MS Word and Excel, Photoshop V.CS4, Websync Dakstats, B2 Vidio Network, Hi-Tech Timing Systems. And SidHelp Webpage Design. Excellent writing skills Detailed orientated, conscientious Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills Ability to work well with diverse populations Ability to present professional demeanor at all times
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree or higher in related field Supervisory experience
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Administer the Men's & Women's Track and Field Program Responsible for administering and overseeing all aspects of the Track and Field program. Administer effective in-contest coaching and managing technics. Organization and implantation of practice plans and instruction. Athlete development. Contest day operations. Scheduling of contest and practice. Travel supervision. Budget management. Monitoring of student-athletes academic progress Media Relations. Recruitment and Retention of quality student-athletes. Responsible for the supervision and instruction of sprinters, hurdlers, and jumpers. Responsible for athlete development. Responsible for overall coordination of program including assigning of coaches to positions and recruiting areas. Administer recruitment of track and field for women and men Identify, evaluate, and recruit potential student athletes. Other duties as assigned that may include serving as instructor with classes assigned by the respective supervisor. Teach 6 credits each semester as assigned by supervisor Perform other duties as assigned such as game day supervision or other areas as assigned by the athletic director.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE
Salary range of $58,000-$60,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience Comprehensive fringe benefits, including, but not limited to: 100% employer-paid health insurance (family or single coverage) TIAA retirement Tuition waiver benefits Possible eligibility to participate in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program with the US Department of Education.
