Freshman Cheer Coach - WHS for 2026-27Reports To:
Cheer Coordinator and the Assistant PrincipalDESCRIPTION
Instruct student athletes in the fundamentals, strategies, rules, and physical training needed for individual and team success in cheer. Promote participation, self-confidence, work ethic, and good sportsmanship in each student involved.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent Knowledgeable about the rules and fundamental techniques required of the sport Ability to obtain current CPR / First Aid when applicable Ability to work effectively with sport coaching staff, parents, and school staffJOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Attend summer and school year practices / meetings Attend summerUCA / NCA
camp Supervise cheerleaders at games for various sports Coordinate and supervise various philanthropy and fundraising events Assist in the preparation and supervision of cheer tryouts in the spring Take responsibility for all outcomes and happenings related to cheerleading Maintain organized set of standard procedures and routines Maintain consistent communication with Assistant Principals Comply with department / district policies Develop positive self image with athletics Utilize sound teaching methods to develop skills / techniques Demonstrate public support / loyalty for coaches Demonstrate positive team sportsmanship toward opponents and officials OTHER SKILLS andABILITIES
Able to establish and maintain strong lines of communication with student other coaches, athletes, parents, and teachers Be approachable and encourage all stakeholders to share concerns Work with parents and children of diverse cultural backgrounds. Develop a consistent, stable, and trustworthy working relationships with students, staff, and the school community Perform duties with awareness of all District requirements and Board of Education policiesAPPLICATION PROCEDURE
