Winnisquam Regional High School is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Junior Varsity Cheerleading Coach for the winter cheer season running from mid-November through mid-February. This position is ideal for someone passionate about working with athletes, building teamwork, and creating a positive team environment.

The JV Coach will lead practices focused on teaching and preparing game material during the first week or two of the season. After game material has been completed, the commitment will primarily consist of attending and coaching at up to two games per week for the remainder of the season. This team will not compete in competitions and solely focus on games.

Responsibilities:
  • Coach and supervise JV cheer athletes throughout the winter season
  • Teach sideline cheer routines, motions, jumps, and basic stunts
  • Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and athlete development
  • Prepare athletes for basketball games and school events
  • Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and program leadership
  • Ensure a safe, positive, and encouraging environment
Schedule:

Season runs mid-November through mid-February

Initial practices during the first 2 weeks to prepare game material

After initial prep period, schedule primarily consists of one practice per week and 2 games per week

Qualifications:
  • Cheerleading experience preferred
  • Positive attitude and strong leadership skills
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • USA Cheer Stunt Safety Certification (can obtain after hire)
  • NFHS Heat Illness and Concussion Certifications
Compensation:

This is a stipend position. Specific compensation details will be provided upon hiring.
