Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach DePaul Catholic High School Wayne, NJ Job Details Temporary | Seasonal $8,500 - $10,000 a year 1 day ago Qualifications School experience Teamwork Sports rule interpretation Team development Swimming Working with students Basketball Full Job Description Overview The Head Girls Basketball Coach is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the girls basketball program. This includes developing student-athletes' basketball skills, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship, and creating a positive, disciplined, and competitive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and conduct daily practices that improve individual and team performance. Develop game strategies and make in-game coaching decisions. Teach fundamental basketball skills, teamwork, leadership, and good sportsmanship. Supervise and mentor assistant coaches and support staff. Monitor student-athletes' academic progress and encourage academic success. Ensure the health and safety of players by following all school and athletic association policies. Organize team schedules, equipment, travel, and program logistics. Communicate effectively with players, parents, school administrators, and officials. Promote character, integrity, respect, and accountability within the program. Recruit and retain student participation while fostering a positive team culture. Represent the school and athletic program in a professional manner at all times.
Qualifications:
Previous coaching and/or playing experience in basketball. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Knowledge of basketball rules, strategies, and player development. Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes. Current coaching certifications, CPR/First Aid certification, and background checks as required by the school or state.
