TBD Join Our Mountain Team! Sandia Peak Ski Area is looking for passionate and energetic Ski and Snowboard Instructors to join our Snowsports School for the 2025-26 winter season! Whether you're a seasoned pro or looking to begin your instructing career, we offer a supportive and fun environment with access to incredible terrain, a great team, and amazing guests. If you love the mountains, thrive in the snow, and enjoy sharing your passion for skiing or snowboarding, we want to hear from you!
Qualifications Responsibilities:
Teach skiing or snowboarding to guests of all ages and ability levels, from first-timers to advanced riders Create a fun, safe, and encouraging environment on the slopes Tailor lessons to meet individual guest needs and goals Deliver excellent customer service and promote a positive guest experience Maintain awareness of mountain safety and resort policies Assist in Snowsports School events, clinics, and programs as needed Represent Sandia Peak Ski Area in a professional and enthusiastic manner at all times
Qualifications:
Instructors will be expected to dress in the Snowsports uniform while instructing.
This includes:
black winter weather pants, layers appropriate for weather, helmet, gloves, glasses/goggles, no visible graphics from ski areas other than Sandia Peak Ski Area. A jacket shell will be provided. This job is outdoors in a high altitude environment. Bring a container of water, or other, to hydrate throughout the day, and food for nutrition throughout the day. You will be expected to clean up after yourself on a daily basis. It is recommended to bring and apply sunscreen. You will be expected to be fully dressed, with boots on, etc., equipment ready at the start of your day. There is a 2 week probation period before receiving your employee season pass. In Sandia Snowsports the two week probation period starts when you teach your first class. A pass will be issued after successfully teaching four classes during your two week prohibition period. It is strongly desired that you are able to commit to at least two days per week of instructing. If you do not have a current
PSIA/AASA
Certification (or equivalent), nor are you a returning instructor from last year, you will be required to take a Snowsports clinic for a Never Ever Certification prior to working. This clinic will provide you with all the tools to successfully instruct a class and share your passion for the sport. The cost of the clinic is $100, paid in advance. After successfully getting through your probation period and instructing four classes, this clinic cost will be returned to you. A failure to show up, on-time, on a scheduled instruction day could result in loss of pass privileges. Share job details to
