Job Description

Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship.

Adhere to injury procedures established by the Glens Falls Athletic Department.

Ensure that all coaches work together toward a common goal within their respected programs.

Establish performance criteria for competition and evaluate students' athletic abilities on a regular basis(i.e. statistics, challenge matches etc.). Advise students and parents on the athletic code of conduct and the consequences of violation of the code.

Train and inform staff and encourage professional growth by promoting clinic attendance.

Take all necessary precautions to protect student athletes, equipment, materials, and facilities.

Monitor and enforce student eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation.l

Work with the athletic department to schedule competitions and coordinate arrangements (i.e. facilities, busing, camps, special events, etc.) Annually establish and meet performance goals.

Accompany and supervise student athletes during athletic competitions in assigned sports on out-of town trips.

Apply and enforce student discipline during athletic contests, and encourage sportsman conduct in all phases of athletic participation. Maintain inventory of all uniforms and equipment within the program.

Establish and maintain open, professional and respectful communications with students, parents, teachers, youth coaches and the athletic director.

Job Qualifications

Coaching Requirements:

Valid NYS Fingerprinting Clearance

Up-to-date First-Aid, CPR, and AED Certification

Concussion Training

DASA & CAR/SAVE

Training

Valid NYS Coaching Certification (can be obtained simultaneously)
