Job Description

Position Summary:
Adirondack Health Medical Fitness Center's Swim Instructors are a vital component to our team. They are dedicated and have the experience to teach swimming to individuals of all ages and skill levels, ensuring a safe and enjoyable learning environment. All swim instructors are preferred to also be lifeguard certified and preferably obtain their water safety instructor (WSI) certification. At times this position may be asked to also lifeguard as needed and comply with all lifeguard job description when on duty. The position will maintain a positive and professional demeanor during interactions and work related relationships with all persons at the center including but not limited to members, guests and team members. Swim instructors must have adequate swim instructing experience and be fully competent in performing swim lessons to ensure safety of all participants.
Educational Requirements/ Qualifications/Experience:
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Lifeguard experience desired. Lifeguard certified preferred CPR/BLS for the professional rescuer certified WSI preferred Swim instruction experience
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess American Red Cross Training certification in Community First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Water Safety Instructor certification desired. Must be willing to work all hours the pools are in operation. Must attend emergency rescue training meetings and all staff meetings as requested by manager
