Join One of the Fastest Growing Volleyball Clubs in Virginia! Williamsburg Volleyball Club (WVC) is seeking passionate, knowledgeable, and dependable volleyball coaches who are committed to developing young athletes both on and off the court. If you love teaching the game, building confidence, and creating a positive team culture while competing at a high level, we'd love to hear from you. Position Summary As a WVC Coach, you will be responsible for planning and leading practices, coaching athletes during tournaments, fostering teamwork, and helping players reach their full potential in a fun, competitive, and encouraging environment. Responsibilities Plan and conduct organized, engaging, and age-appropriate volleyball practices. Teach and reinforce fundamental and advanced volleyball skills. Develop team systems, strategy, and game plans. Coach teams during local and regional tournaments. Create a positive, respectful, and motivating environment for athletes and families. Communicate effectively with players, parents, club leadership, and fellow coaches. Encourage sportsmanship, teamwork, accountability, and personal growth. Evaluate player development and provide constructive feedback throughout the season. Arrive prepared and on time for all practices, tournaments, meetings, and club events. Follow all WVC policies and uphold the club's mission and values. Serve as a positive role model and mentor for youth athletes.
Qualifications Required:
Previous volleyball playing experience. Previous coaching experience (club, school, recreational, or collegiate). Strong understanding of volleyball fundamentals, offensive and defensive systems, and player development. Dependable, organized, and professional. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Passion for mentoring young athletes. Ability to work evenings and weekends during the volleyball season. Willingness to travel to local and regional tournaments.
Preferred:
High school, club, collegiate, or higher-level coaching experience. Experience coaching multiple age groups. First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain). USA Volleyball, AAU, or similar coaching certifications are a plus. What We're Looking For The ideal coach is someone who: Inspires athletes to work hard while keeping the game fun.
