Summer Volleyball Camp Coach & Resident Assistant (RA) Global Sports Institute (GSI)
Venice, Florida Camp Dates:
July 5-11 and/or July 19-25 Global Sports Institute (GSI) is seeking energetic, responsible, and enthusiastic individuals to join our Summer Camp Staff as Volleyball Camp Coaches and/or Resident Assistants (RAs). This is an excellent opportunity for college students, recent graduates, coaches, or anyone passionate about youth sports to gain valuable leadership experience while creating an unforgettable camp experience for young athletes. Whether you're leading athletes on the court, mentoring campers off the court, or doing both, you'll play an important role in helping campers grow as athletes and individuals. Position Overview Summer Camp Staff members help deliver a fun, safe, and high-energy volleyball camp experience. Depending on your role and qualifications, responsibilities may include coaching volleyball during the day, supervising overnight campers, assisting with transportation, and helping ensure every camper has a positive and memorable week.
Responsibilities:
Volleyball Coaching Lead and assist with volleyball drills, stations, and gameplay. Provide positive, age-appropriate instruction to athletes from youth through high school. Foster athlete development in skill, confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Help maintain a safe, organized, and energetic training environment. Assist with camp setup, breakdown, and daily operations. Represent GSI's culture and values throughout camp. Resident Assistant (Overnight Camp) Supervise overnight campers at the housing facility. Transport campers between the apartments and GSI using a GSI vehicle (or approved transportation, as applicable). Enforce camp rules, curfew, and quiet hours. Conduct room checks and maintain a safe, respectful living environment. Serve as a mentor and trusted resource for campers throughout the week. Resolve minor conflicts and communicate any concerns or incidents to camp leadership. Assist with camper check-in, check-out, and evening activities. Preferred Qualifications Current college student or recent graduate. Pursuing a degree in Education, Child Development, Psychology, Recreation, Sports Management, Kinesiology, or a related field is a plus. Volleyball playing and/or coaching experience preferred. Experience working with youth, athletic teams, camps, or educational programs. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Positive, dependable, and team-oriented attitude. Ability to remain calm and professional in a variety of situations. CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain upon hiring). Requirements Must be at least 18 years old. Available to work July 5-11 and/or July 19-25. Reliable transportation to and from GSI in Venice, Florida.
For Resident Assistant positions:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to pass a background check. Availability for evening and overnight supervision. Why Join GSI?
