Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Basketball Director to lead our youth basketball programs and foster a love for the game. In this dynamic role, you will develop engaging training sessions, coordinate team activities, and promote sportsmanship among participants. Your leadership will inspire young athletes to improve their skills, build confidence, and enjoy the sport of basketball in a positive environment. Responsibilities Design and implement comprehensive basketball training programs tailored to various skill levels and age groups Lead team practices, drills, and games, ensuring a fun and safe environment for all participants Provide clear instruction on basketball techniques, rules, and strategies to enhance player development Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive behavior among players through effective behavior management Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about player progress, upcoming events, and program updates Coordinate with other sports coaches to integrate cross-training activities such as soccer or cheerleading when appropriate Maintain safety protocols including first aid procedures, AED operation, and emergency response readiness during all activities Experience Prior experience working with children in sports or recreational settings is essential Demonstrated leadership in team coaching or sports-specific training instruction, especially in basketball or related sports like soccer or cheerleading Knowledge of health club or gym environments with familiarity in physical education teaching or sports coaching experience Certifications in first aid and CPR are required; AED operation training is a plus Background in martial arts such as karate, judo, or climbing can be beneficial for developing diverse athletic skills Strong communication skills for effective client (parent/guardian) communication and team coordination Experience managing behavior and promoting positive conduct among youth athletes is highly valued This role offers a vibrant environment where your passion for basketball and youth development can truly shine.
