Company Description Located in Anderson, SC, the Anderson Area YMCA is an organization that has served the local community for nearly 70 years. The YMCA supports more than 10,000 members. Its mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that promote a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all individuals. Members have access to a 6,800 sq ft exercise facility, indoor walking track, two pools, an outdoor splash pad, gymnasium, child-focused areas, and off-site programs including After School care, Camp Venture, Kid Zone camp, and Ducworth Sports Park. Role Description The CrossFit Coach is a part-time, on-site role located at the Anderson Area YMCA in Anderson, SC. This role is responsible for planning and leading CrossFit classes that are safe, effective, and engaging for participants of varying fitness levels. The CrossFit Coach will demonstrate proper exercise techniques, provide individualized coaching within group sessions, and monitor participant performance to encourage progress and prevent injury. We are currently looking for a coach that is available to assist with the 4:30pm and 5:30pm evening classes. Qualifications Candidates should possess skills in group management and fitness instruction to lead varied CrossFit classes safely and effectively. CrossFit Level 1 (or higher) certification. Experience in coaching diverse populations in a gym or community setting, with the ability to modify movements for different fitness levels. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to an inclusive, encouraging, and safe environment for all participants. CPR/AED and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe. Availability to work 1-2+ evenings per week.
