The purpose of this position is to provide swimming instruction and communicate with the public for the City of Spartanburg. This is a permanent, part-time position.
- Teaches swimming lessons to all ages.
- Teaches swimming techniques, strokes, and water safety rules to students of different ages and abilities.
- Creates and adapts lesson plans according to students' needs and goals.
- Assesses students' progress and provides feedback.
- Monitors students' safety and prevents accidents and injuries.
- Maintains a clean and organized pool environment.
- Maintains good public relations through aquatic services and facilities.
- Prevent accidents in the water and on the decks.
- Provides enforcement of all rules and regulations as defined in Pool Operations.
- Receives and handles complaints providing assistance, information, and solutions as needed.
- Performs related work as assigned.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate of competency
- Basic CPR and First Aid training Pay rate: $16 per hour
