The North Rutherford YMCA is Now Hiring for a
Swim Instructor Position Type:
Part-time Pay Range starts at $14 per hour (or more depending on experience) Shift Availability varies by location: The Donelson-Hermitage center is seeking candidates available Saturday's from 9am to 2pm The Margaret Maddox center is seeking candidates available weekday evenings (4-7 PM) and Saturday mornings (9 AM-12 PM) now through May. Looking ahead to summer? Margaret Maddox is also hiring for weekday mornings and evenings , plus Saturday mornings , from June through July. Do you love the water and helping others learn to swim with confidence? We're looking for enthusiastic Swim Instructor to join our team! You'll play a vital role in creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment where participants build lifelong swimming skills.
What You'll Do:
You'll lead swim classes from in the water, ensuring safety, fun, and progression for all participants. With organized lesson plans, you'll teach proper swimming techniques, encourage growth, and provide regular feedback to swimmers and parents. Plus, you'll help keep equipment organized and contribute to a positive Y experience for every member.
What You'll Bring:
Minimum Age:
16 Ability to swim at an intermediate level (check out our Prerequisite Skills Evaluation) Lifeguard and Swim Instructor certifications preferred (we can help you get there!). A positive attitude, great communication skills, and a passion for teaching.
Required Certifications:
