$2,500 Position Overview The Winston School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Swimming Coach to lead our school swimming program for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will create a positive, supportive, and competitive environment while helping student-athletes develop their swimming skills, confidence, sportsmanship, and understanding of the sport. The Swimming Coach will work closely with the Athletic Director to oversee practices, competitions, athlete development, and the overall operation of the swimming program. Responsibilities Plan and conduct organized, age-appropriate swimming practices. Teach and develop proper swimming technique, starts, turns, and race strategies. Prepare student-athletes for meets throughout the season. Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, accountability, and a positive team culture. Prioritize student-athlete safety during all practices and competitions. Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, school administration, and the Athletic Director. Attend and coach all scheduled practices and competitions. Assist with meet entries, lineups, and other administrative responsibilities associated with the program. Follow The Winston School and TAPPS policies, procedures, and expectations for athletics. Serve as a positive role model and representative of The Winston School. Qualifications Previous swimming, coaching, or competitive swimming experience preferred. Strong knowledge of swimming fundamentals, techniques, and competition. Ability to effectively teach, motivate, and communicate with student-athletes. Strong organizational and communication skills. Commitment to creating a positive and developmentally appropriate athletic experience. Ability to meet all school and TAPPS requirements for coaches. Compensation & Season This is a seasonal stipend position with a $2,500 stipend . The swimming season runs November through February .
