Track and Field Athletic Coach Cape Henry Collegiate - 3.5 Virginia Beach, VA Job Details $1,800 - $2,500 a month 1 hour ago Qualifications Sports team experience Full Job Description The Cape Henry Collegiate (CHC) Athletic Program is a vibrant and successful department in an Independent College Preparatory School setting. The coaching staff are valued and important members of the CHC Community. We seek coaches who want to lead, mentor, and teach skill development, providing an exemplary experience in support of our school mission and core values. Salary range for season is $1,800.00 - $2,500.00 based on verified experience. Position duties (include, but are not limited to): Provide instruction in all phases of track and field. Work with student athletes to improve personal and teamwork skills. Maintain compliance with Conference and State Athletic Association rules and guidelines. Work collaboratively with the Athletic Director to evaluate program needs. Communicate effectively with the team, staff, parents, community, administration, and the media. Handle financial items for the athletic program, including the inventory and purchase of equipment and uniforms. Organize and maintain proper records, including TCIS & State forms, reports, team statistics, and summary season information. Maintain an excellent attendance record and be punctual. Complete reports timely and accurately. Possess knowledge of applicable health and safety practices. Assist with the responsibility of the practice plan and skill development. Create a professional working relationship with Conference & State opponents.
The ideal candidate will:
Have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Demonstrate professionalism and foster a positive environment. Have a working knowledge of interscholastic athletic program regulations. Exhibit skill in managing individual, group, organizational interactions and problem resolution. Commit and assist an off season skill development and conditioning program for team members. In addition, we seek a coach who is dependable, adaptable and flexible in order to meet the needs of all athletes on the team. He/she should be an excellent collaborator who can take initiative, anticipate the needs of student athletes, and assist in balancing all of the requirements of the CHC student athlete. The right candidate is encouraged to join in all aspects of our lively, engaging, and rewarding school community life. Education and Experience Minimum of 1 year of coaching experience as an Assistant Coach or a Head Coach. Physical Requirements Significant standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling.
