Job Description

Mill River Union High School is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and student-centered Varsity Golf Head Coach to lead and develop its high school golf program. The ideal candidate will foster athletic excellence, sportsmanship, and personal growth while creating a positive and competitive team culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and conduct all varsity golf practices and competitionsTeach fundamental and advanced golf skills, rules, and course management strategiesPromote sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect among student-athletesDevelop practice schedules, match lineups, and seasonal training plansMonitor student-athlete academic progress and eligibility requirementsEnsure the safety and well-being of all players during practices and matchesCoordinate with athletic department staff on scheduling, transportation, and program needsMaintain and manage team equipment and uniformsCommunicate effectively with players, parents, school staff, and administrationRepresent the school with professionalism at all events
Qualifications:
Previous coaching experience in golf or related sport preferredStrong knowledge of golf techniques, rules, and competitive playAbility to mentor and motivate high school student-athletesExcellent communication, leadership, and organizational skillsCommitment to fostering an inclusive and positive team environmentCPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)Must meet all school, district, and state coaching certification requirements
Working Conditions:
Seasonal position requiring after-school hours, evenings, and occasional weekendsOutdoor work in varying weather conditionsTravel to away matches required
