To Be Determined Job Description Poultney High School-Middle School Boys Basketball Head Coach-PoHS is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Boys Basketball Head Coach to lead our student-athletes for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will focus on foundational skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and fostering a positive, inclusive team culture. Key Responsibilities Organize and conduct daily practices focused on basketball fundamentals, conditioning, and team strategies. Lead the team during home and away games, modeling strong sportsmanship and fair play. Emphasize academic success, discipline, personal growth, and student safety both on and off the court. Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents/guardians, school administration, and athletic department staff. Manage equipment inventory and ensure compliance with school and Vermont Principals' Association (VPA) rules and policies. Qualifications Prior basketball coaching or playing experience at the middle school, high school, or collegiate level preferred. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to pass required background checks. First Aid/CPR certification and completion of required VPA coaches' education courses (or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season).
