Teaching Full Job Description Position Overview:
We are seeking friendly and dependable Water Babies Instructors to lead our parent-tot swim classes for children under the age of 3. In this role, you will guide parents in helping their babies become comfortable and confident in the water, all within our warm, 90-degree pool built specifically for swim lessons. No prior teaching experience? No problem—Kids Club provides full training for the right candidate who loves working with children and families.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead parent-tot swim classes: Teach parents how to safely support their babies in the water, introducing foundational swim skills through songs, play, and bonding activities.
Promote water safety:
Emphasize safety awareness and model safe behavior in and around the water. Be alert, attentive, and proactive during all classes.
Support early development:
Create a positive, playful learning environment that supports each child's social, emotional, and physical development in the water.
Communicate effectively:
Provide clear, encouraging instruction and communicate regularly with parents to build confidence and trust.
Maintain cleanliness and safety standards:
Ensure the pool area is clean, safe, and welcoming for families.
Participate in training:
Complete initial and ongoing training in infant/toddler swim instruction and water safety: Lifeguard certification, CPR, and First Aid training provided by Kids Club.
Requirements:
Passion for early childhood: Enjoy working with babies, toddlers, and their caregivers in a hands-on, high-energy environment.
C ommunication skills:
Able to confidently lead a class, provide clear instructions, and support families in learning water safety.
Patience and empathy:
Understand child development and respond sensitively to each child's comfort level in the water.
Physical fitness:
Must be able to move in and out of the pool, hold children safely in the water, and demonstrate basic swim skills.
Availability:
We offer morning, evening, or weekend shifts based on program needs.
Working Conditions:
Indoor, warm-water pool environment. Requires standing, lifting, and being in the water for extended periods of time. May involve handling crying or anxious children in a calm, supportive manner.
