Duties & Responsibilities Bring support and energy to developing the innovative and collaborative neuroscience research. Support federally funded research programs and publish high impact scientific research in the areas of neural circuitry function, neurobehavior and neuropsychiatric and neurological disease. Develop collaborations with pertinent faculty within the College and partner institutions. Contribute to the teaching, mentoring and service components of the College's missions in medical and graduate education. Research and other scholarly work. Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Have experience mentoring students and trainees in research projects. Have outstanding interpersonal communication and professionalism skills. Minimum Qualifications Hold an MD, PhD or MD/PhD or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution in biological sciences, medicine or a related field. Exhibit a track record of extramural research funding, high impact publications and teaching. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrate innovation and federally-funded research in neuroscience, metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. Have a strong track record in teaching and mentoring in classroom or laboratory settings. Have experience in an academic medical center and medical education environment. Exhibit a strong record of peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals (e.g., Molecular Psychiatry, Journal of Neuroscience). Demonstrate experience with in vivo electrophysiology, optogenetics and advanced neuroanatomical tracing techniques. Have experience serving on the editorial board of a peer-reviewed scientific journal.
