Job Description
The Departments of Psychological Science and Neuroscience seek candidates with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and the ability to establish an active research program that involves undergraduates. The position (75% appointment in Psychological Science and 25% appointment in Neuroscience) will begin in July 2027. The candidate is expected to teach two courses per semester, in addition to supervising senior theses. Courses may include introductory psychology and/or human neuroscience, as well as courses (elective, lab, or seminar) in the candidate's area of research expertise. The successful candidate will have a productive research program examining the neural and/or physiological mechanisms of psychological phenomena. Pomona College is a selective liberal arts college, known for small classes, a challenging curriculum, and close relationships between students and faculty. The College has a generous pre-tenure sabbatical and offers internal support for faculty research, as well as professional development opportunities for faculty at all stages of their careers. The Departments of Psychological Science and Neuroscience are strongly committed to inclusive excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student body. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field.
