Full-Time Position Description Summary:
Security studies: The George Washington University's Elliott School of International Affairs and Department of Political Science invite applications for two full-time, tenure-track faculty positions in security studies at the level of assistant professor beginning as early as Fall 2027. We seek applicants who demonstrate strong potential for achievement in scholarship and excellence in teaching.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaching responsibilities will include high-quality courses for undergraduate and graduate students in the Elliott School (at the MA level) and Political Science Department (at the PhD level), and the candidate should maintain flexibility in terms of the eventual teaching portfolio. The positions will be affiliated with the Elliott School's Institute for Security and Conflict Studies and M.A. program in Security Policy Studies, and jointly appointed in the GW Political Science Department. Elliott School faculty maintain engagement with policy issues and the policy community as a general criteria for appointment.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in political science or closely related field (such as government, politics, public policy, or international relations) with a primary focus on security, broadly defined, must be conferred by the time of appointment.

$105,000 - $125,000
