EpiCenter Medical Assistant & Registered Nurse (RN) Trainer Continuing Education (CE) Part-Time / Adjunct Key Position Information St. Petersburg College (SPC) seeks Florida-licensed Medical Assistants and Registered Nurses (RNs), as well as other qualified allied health professionals, to serve as subject matter expert trainers for 3-hour Continuing Education (CE) courses. Trainers will deliver short-term, workforce-focused CE instruction in healthcare topics including, but not limited to: Medical Assistant clinical skills and best practices Diabetes care and management Stroke recognition and response Holistic and patient-centered care Women¿s and Men¿s Health Chronic disease management Preventive care and wellness SPC is committed to student success and seeks highly motivated healthcare professionals who are passionate about teaching, workforce development, and advancing healthcare education. Position Summary The Medical Assistant & RN Trainer is responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering engaging CE instruction that promotes successful learning outcomes for adult learners and healthcare professionals. Trainers will utilize industry experience, evidence-based practices, and interactive instructional methods to support workforce readiness and professional advancement. Minimum Requirements Education Appropriate level of education as outlined in the SPC Teaching Disciplines and Faculty Credentialing Guidelines Licensure Active Florida license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Medical Assistant (or other applicable allied health license, as appropriate) Experience Current or recent clinical and/or professional experience in healthcare Prior teaching, training, or precepting experience preferred (college, workforce, or clinical education) Essential Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging CE instruction aligned with course objectives and workforce standards Demonstrate instructional strategies that promote the acquisition of healthcare knowledge, clinical skills, and professional competencies Utilize observational, oral, and written assessments to guide and enhance learning Create and maintain an inclusive, supportive learning environment that respects diverse backgrounds and learning styles Incorporate current and emerging healthcare practices, technologies, and instructional methods Deliver instruction using face-to-face, hybrid, or alternative learning formats, as assigned Adhere to all SPC policies, procedures, and accreditation standards Maintain professional licensure and engage in ongoing professional development Effectively support diverse student populations, including adult learners and working professionals Preferred Qualifications Experience training Medical Assistants, nurses, or allied health professionals Familiarity with Continuing Education requirements and adult learning principles Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills Equal Access/Equal Opportunity The Board of Trustees of St. Petersburg College affirms its equal opportunity policy in accordance with the provisions of the Florida Educational Equity Act and all other relevant state and federal laws, rules and regulations.
