Tenure-Track Assistant Professor History (medieval/early modern European)

Job Description

New College of Florida invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in medieval and/or early modern European history. Ph.D. in History or Medieval Studies required by August 2027, when employment begins. The successful candidate will teach an introductory survey of medieval European history, additional courses in his or her fields of interest, and contribute to the college's programs in Medieval & Renaissance Studies and Great Books. Candidates should have teaching experience, a commitment to liberal arts education, and a robust research agenda. The teaching load is 2/2, plus sponsoring tutorials and senior theses and serving on baccalaureate committees. New College, the nationally recognized honors college of the State University System of Florida, is a small, selective, innovative liberal arts institution that values both scholarship and teaching. Students, with the help of faculty sponsors, plan their own academic programs through a series of semester contracts, and receive narrative evaluations in addition to grades. Completion of a senior thesis is a graduation requirement. Interested candidates should apply online at http://www.ncf.
