Job Description Assistant Professor Kansas State University About This Role The Department of Civil Engineering at Kansas State University seeks applicants for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor with an anticipated start date of Fall 2026. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses and develop a vibrant research program in structural engineering. Strong candidates with a Ph.D. degree from all research focus areas in structures are encouraged to apply. However, special consideration will be given to applicants with the following research accomplishments and interests: AI and ML in Structural Engineering 3D Printing of structural components using various constructions materials NDT/SHM, behavior, testing and analysis of transportation infrastructure Innovation applications in steel structures with or without seismic emphasis Behavior of innovative structural systems with new and/or sustainable materials Computational structural mechanics for a variety of structural systems About Us The Department of Civil Engineering at Kansas State University is committed to its Next Generation Land Grant University mission of teaching, research and engagement. Succeed Preferred and Required Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
BS in Civil Engineering and PhD in Civil Engineering or a closely related field The degree requirement is necessary for accreditation purposes and to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ability to obtain professional engineering licensure Sponsorship eligibility: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
