The Department of Chemistry at the University of the Cumberlands invites applicants to apply for a full-time assistant professorship in Physical Chemistry and/or Inorganic Chemistry beginning August 2026. The primary responsibilities of the position will primarily focus on teaching undergraduate courses in General, Physical Chemistry and/or Inorganic Chemistry, along with their corresponding laboratory components.
Responsibilities:
Teaching undergraduate General, Physical Chemistry and/or Inorganic Chemistry, along with their corresponding laboratory components Serves as a moral, ethical, and professional model, in class and in the community Works collaboratively and successfully with colleagues and university administration Other duties as assigned by the Vice President for
Academic Affairs Requirements:
Master of Science (Ph.D. preferred) in Physical Chemistry and/or Inorganic Chemistry, or a closely related field Proven experience in teaching Record of professional and scholarly productivity Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills. Must be able to relate to and communicate with diverse students, faculty, staff, and external communities Willingness to adopt and support a mindset that focuses on student success
