Assistant Professor of Communication

Position Description:

Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Communication. This is a full-time, tenure-track, on-campus position beginning either in January or August of 2027. Supported by state-of-the art facilities in Innovation Alley, the communication program has a strong commitment to applied, experiential learning with a focus on media production, sports broadcasting, and digital storytelling, that provides students with meaningful portfolio-ready work.

Candidates should demonstrate the ability to teach a wide range of courses with particular emphasis on media studies and be committed to excellence in teaching, as well as scholarship and/or creative work.

Responsibilities:

Contribute to the ongoing growth of the department through curriculum development and assessment activities.

Design and deliver engaging courses and incorporate experiential learning opportunities into coursework. Advices and monitor students on academic and career development. Engage in scholarly activities on academic and career development. Engage in scholarly activities, creative work, or professional practice in the field. Participate in departmental, college-wide, and community service activities. Assist with recruitment efforts and have a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education.

Qualifications:

Minimum of a master's degree in Communication is required for a renewable lecturer position. Ph.D. is preferred and required for a tenure-track position. ABD candidates will be considered.
