The Department of Agricultural Economics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR) is seeking applications for an Agricultural Banking and Finance position at the rank of assistant or associate professor. This 9-month (academic year), tenure-track appointment will develop and maintain nationally and internationally recognized research, teaching, and outreach programs in agricultural banking and finance, including oversight of the undergraduate Agricultural Banking and Finance Program. Located in Lincoln, Nebraska, the position apportionment is 50% research and 50% teaching. This position will lead the Agricultural Banking and Finance Program by recruiting, advising, and mentoring 30-40 students while building scholarship and internship partnerships with the Nebraska Banking Association. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in agricultural finance, banking, appraisal, and financial management; developing impactful research in agricultural finance, risk management, and capital markets; securing external funding; and publishing in high-impact journals. The role also requires collaboration with industry, academic, and public partners, participation in banking conferences, service on university and outreach initiatives, and contributions to extension, science literacy, and departmental recruitment efforts.
