Position Summary Department Summary The Electrical Engineering and Renewable Energy (EERE) department offers undergraduate programs in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, and Electronics Engineering Technology, all of which are ABET accredited. The department also offers MS degrees in Engineering and in Renewable Energy Engineering. The EERE faculty team is multidisciplinary with backgrounds including electrical engineering, optics, physical chemistry, materials science, and mechanical engineering. The EERE department is located on both the Klamath Falls and Wilsonville campuses. Core undergraduate programs are available on both campuses; other offerings may vary by location. Majors in the EERE department are closely aligned with Oregon Tech's mission of providing innovative and rigorous degree programs in technology-related fields with emphasis on the application of theory to practice. The job responsibilities for the Assistant Professor position include teaching courses (with labs) in microcontrollers, digital systems, control systems, among other areas. Additionally, candidates should be enthusiastic about innovations in instruction, curriculum development, and student engagement. The successful candidate must have expertise in one or more of the following electrical engineering areas such as digital systems, chip design, and intelligent and autonomous systems (AI/machine learning, robotics). Outstanding candidates from other areas are also encouraged to apply. Candidates for this position are expected to develop externally funded applied research programs and projects involving students on applied research. Other responsibilities include advising students, directing student projects, and participating in continuous professional development, as well as other departmental and institutional service activities. Minimum Requirements Additional Requirements PhD in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
Prior education at an ABET accredited program/department, or prior working experience at an ABET accredited program/department/institution. Preferred Qualifications Relevant industry experience.
