Introduction to Personal Computing. This is an introductory course that describes how computers are applied to solving problems in our information-oriented society. Included is a study of fundamental hardware, operating systems, networking, computer privacy and security, and the social, economic, and legal impact of information systems. Standard business-based software packages (MS Office) are used by students to solve a variety of problems. This course is required for many of our science majors who use Excel in their coursework and is also an elective for a diverse set of students across campus. Applications should include a two-page cover letter that includes teaching experience and philosophy, a CV, transcripts and contact information for three references. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Selected candidates must successfully pass a background check.
