A Computer Science Professor teaches foundational computer science ideas, truths, and methods to students through a combination of classroom instruction, lab experience, and assignments at colleges, trade schools or other institutes. May assist or lead in the creation of the computer science curriculum to be taught. In addition to instruction, they may assist or lead in research initiatives relating to their field.

Position Summary The Department of Engineering, Data, and Computer Sciences, in the College of Business, Engineering and Technology at the National University invites applications for part-time faculty with a specialization in Electrical and Computer Engineering. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of, or potential for excellence in, the following: teaching in their field, a commitment to serving the university's diverse adult student body, and related scholarship and/or research . This position primarily works closely with the Academic Program Director and other faculty within the program and contributes to ensuring program quality, student engagement, and success.
Essential Job Duties:
Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities. Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment. Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals, etc.) Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable. Provide feedback to the course lead regarding the course content. Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.
Qualifications:
A Master's degree and relevant professional experience is required. A Ph. D. in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science or a related field from a regionally accredited university is preferred. Industry experience in the field of embedded systems, VLSI, and microelectronics is preferred. Online teaching experience highly preferred. Experience in Higher Education highly preferred.
