Job Description

JOB The Fire Technology Coordinator is a full-time, tenure-track faculty member responsible for providing coordination of the Fire Technology program at the Sacramento Regional Public Safety Training Center. The faculty member shall be responsible for the following: coordination of instructional programs and/or teaching assigned classes under the supervision of the area Dean/Associate Dean; helping students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content; assessing student learning outcomes; maintaining a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in their regular teaching field; continuing professional development; utilizing current technology in the performance of job duties; maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position; assisting with articulation and curriculum development and review; serving on college committees and participating in faculty governance including accreditation and student co-curricular activities; assuming other responsibilities as assigned by the area Dean/Associate Dean; fulfilling other duties and responsibilities of a full-time faculty member. Position Salary Information:
Initial maximum salary placement is based on academic degree, upper/graduate level units earned, and/or related professional occupational experience per the Los Rios College Federation of Teachers Contract (the initial maximum placement is Class V, Step 8). EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Coordinator duties may include, but are not limited to: Assisting the Deam/Associate Dean in developing, evaluating and implementing the Fire Technology and Sacramento Regional Public Safety Training Center (SRPSTC) training programs.

Adhering to the standards of the Office of the State Fire Marshal, California State Fire Training.

Supporting instructional quality, program continuity, and compliance with state regulatory agencies.

Program and course planning, organizing, scheduling, certification, and preparing, reviewing, and tracking student testing procedures.

Assisting with articulation and developing, reviewing, revising, and improving curricula.

Maintaining program documentation and preparing Career and Technical Education (CTE) reports.

Administering program budgets, equipment and supplies with the ability to forecast department needs and establish goals and objectives.

Preparing Perkins and Strong Workforce reporting.

Developing a robust Fire Technology Advisory Committee to assure the curriculum meets the needs of the industry, certification and the community. Participating in hiring committees.

Onboarding and orienting of new Fire Technology faculty to their assignment and obligations.

Serving as a resource for Fire Technology faculty.

Participating in peer review teams.

Participating in program reviews and annual unit plans.

Coordinating with other Fire Technology faculty in the college system on class schedules, student learning outcomes, and program assessment.

Collaborating with various public service entities and other college programs regarding academic and career pathways.

Utilizing technology, including computers, computer software, internet, email and multimedia.

Assessing student learning outcomes and completing program review.

Remaining current in the subject area and in the techniques of effective instruction.

Representing the Fire Technology program at various campus/off-campus events.

Participating in professional activities.

Degree titles must match the stated qualifications exactly (word-for-word). If the degree title differs, or if it contains added, missing, or rearranged words, applicants must submit a completed Equivalency Determination Request Form for the application to be considered. See the Equivalency Determination Process webpage for details.
Example:
If a master's in Psychology is required but your transcript lists Counseling Psychology, and that title is not listed in the Minimum Qualifications, an Equivalency Determination Request Form must be submit.

Previously granted equivalencies must be attached for verification. Email hr-recruitment@losrios.edu for a replacement copy.
Transcript Requirements:
Transcripts must be from an accredited U.S. institution or approved foreign evaluation agency.

Foreign transcripts are not accepted. For coursework and degrees completed outside the U.S., upload a foreign transcript evaluation.

Foreign transcript evaluations must be issued by an AICE (Association of International Credential Evaluation, Inc.) or NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services) member agency. See the Foreign Transcript Evaluation webpage for details.

If more than one degree is required to meet the Minimum Qualifications (e.g., a bachelor's and a master's), separate transcripts for each degree must be included.

Transcripts must clearly identify the institution name, degree title, major and/or certifications. Highlight/Circle this information.

Transcripts must indicate whether each degree is completed (confer date) or in progress.

If the degree is in progress the application must state the month and year the degree is expected to be attained.

Only official or unofficial transcripts are accepted to verify education. Graduate advising documents, grade reports, course listings, diplomas, and similar materials will not be accepted in place of transcripts.

Applicants are responsible for concealing any sensitive information from their transcripts, such as full birthdate, social, or other personal data, if preferred not to disclose it.
