This position requires a bachelor's degree in sonography or a related field and must possess appropriate credentials for ARDMS and/or ARRT (S, VS) sonography professional license. Other specific credentials for adult cardiac, breast, musculoskeletal will be considered preferred credentials. A candidate who possesses the minimum combination of licensing such as abdomen and vascular, or abdomen and obstetrics may also be considered. Candidate must have a minimum of three years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer in the professional sonography field. Must be proficient with the use of computers, use of Office 365, and virtual communication software. Preference for candidates with experience in clinical placement and supervision of students. Clinical experience working with diagnostic medical sonography students is highly preferred. Documented experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance and in educational theories and techniques is also preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach courses in accordance with college and departmental policies and procedures, as well as Basic Course Information sheets. Prepare and submit timely grade reports and other reports on student performance as scheduled or required. Organize class activities and assignments, relating them to the overall learning outcomes of the course. Provide input and work with other faculty and staff to review, produce and/ or select course-related materials.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Extensive knowledge of the subject area(s) in which the individual is responsible for instruction. Knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of effective communication and of effective instruction. Knowledge and understanding of the characteristics and challenges of community college students. Knowledge and understanding of principles of curriculum development. Computer literate and able to navigate in a Windows environment. This position may be subject to a criminal background screening as a condition of employment.
