A Criminal Justice Professor teaches foundational criminal justice ideas, truths, and methods to students through a combination of classroom instruction, field experience, and assignments at colleges, trade schools or other institutes. May assist or lead in the creation of the criminal justice curriculum to be taught. In addition to instruction, they may assist or lead in research initiatives relating to their field.

Work Schedule:
Hours vary and may include day, evening and weekend responsibilities. Courses are taught in a classroom setting and may include a lab component. Please indicate your availability in your cover letter.

Adjunct teaching faculty provide instruction aligned with the college's strategic goals and evaluate students' progress to facilitate achievement of their educational goals.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Associate's degree in a related field with 4,000 hours of documented work experience OR, Bachelor's degree in a related field with 2,000 hours of documented work experience Minimum 3 years' teaching experience in a technical field Strong communication skills
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
5 years' experience in building maintenance High Pressure Stationary Engineer's License ESCO Excellence Certified Refrigeration experience
Essential Duties:
Deliver Instruction 1. Conduct assigned classes and/or labs 2. Prepare lessons 3. Provide course syllabus (which shall include grading standards, attendance policies, classroom behavioral expectations, course outline and contact information) 4. Verify student enrollment and submit grade sheets If a lab is involved: 5. Prepare labs 6. Enforce lab safety procedures Evaluate Student Progress 1. Keep accurate record of student performance 2. Provide students with timely feedback Provide Student Assistance 1. Maintain office hours and voice-mail/e-mail communication 2. Refer students to student support services 3. Accommodate special needs students Provide classroom instruction with related lab in the following residential/commercial hvac areas: Electrical, heating, air conditioning, load calculations, blueprint reading, tools and equipment related to subject, and safety.
