Aug 27, 2026 Job Description Green Acres Elementary School Literacy Coach Green Acres Elementary School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Literacey Coach to join our passionate team of educators. The ideal candidate is an instructional leader dedicated to improving literacy instruction and student achievement across grades K-5. The coach collaborates with teachers, administrators, and instructional teams to strengthen classroom practices through job-embedded professional learning, instructional coaching, data analysis, and curriculum implementation. This position is non-evaluative and focuses on building teacher capacity to ensure all students receive high-quality, evidence-based literacy instruction. Responsibilities Provide individualized instructional coaching through classroom observations, co-planning, modeling, co-teaching, and reflective feedback. Support teachers in implementing high-quality, evidence-based literacy instruction aligned with district curriculum and state standards. Analyze student assessment data to identify instructional strengths, areas for growth, and targeted interventions. Assist teachers in differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all learners. Lead and facilitate professional development sessions related to reading, writing, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, and literacy assessment. Support the implementation of district literacy initiatives, instructional materials, and assessment systems. Collaborate with the Green Acres Principal and district leaders to develop school-wide literacy improvement plans. Maintain current knowledge of research-based literacy practices and emerging educational trends. Build positive, collaborative relationships with teachers, administrators, families, and support staff. Assist with curriculum review, resource selection, and instructional planning as assigned. Perform other duties related to instructional improvement as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education. Valid state teaching certification. Minimum of five years of successful elementary teaching experience, preferably in literacy instruction. Demonstrated expertise in the science of reading and evidence-based literacy practices. Strong knowledge of elementary literacy curriculum, assessment, and instructional strategies. Excellent communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills. Ability to analyze data and use it to inform instructional decisions. Master's degree in Reading, Literacy, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a related field. Reading Specialist certification or Literacy Coach endorsement. Experience providing instructional coaching or mentoring teachers. Experience facilitating professional learning for adult learners.
