Plan and provide professional development to early childhood/elementary Learning Specialists and special educators on utilizing appropriate assessments to drive instruction, best practices for instruction for students with disabilities in the elementary setting, progress monitoring tools, establishing appropriate goals, and writing IEPs. Provide training and support for determination of eligibility for special education to early childhood/elementary providers. Work with the SSS Leadership team to establish and implement a continuum of specialized instruction. Collaborate regularly with providers, SSS Leadership and building administrators to ensure high quality instructional practices for students with disabilities and to guide quality programming for students with disabilities. Support exploration, adoption, and implementation of curricular resources. Work with the leadership team to guide budget planning for instructional materials and professional development. Provide coaching to teachers as needed to develop capacity in instructional practices and decision making.EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
: Must be a minimum of 18 years old. Bachelor's degree or higher. LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS orCERTIFICATIONS
: Criminal background check required for hire. Must possess the required license and endorsement for the position or be in process with the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) for a valid Colorado Educator License within 30 days of hire. Preference given to candidates with ELL Training and/or an ESL or (LDE) Linguistically Diverse Education Endorsement.SALARY INFORMATION
(FOREXTERNAL CANDIDATES
): All salary placement on our Certified Salary Schedule is dependent on the employees' education and/or work experience. Certified/licensed employees will be granted one (1) year for each full year of contractual and/or work experience up to a maximum of ten (10) years, which includes in-district and out-of-district contractual teaching and/or work experience. Responsibility for verification of outside experience shall rest with the individual employee.
