JOB DESCRIPTION
The Instructional Coach is a critical lever in improving student achievement. The role of the Instructional Coach Learning is to build teacher capacity and their understanding of instructional practices as related to instructional evaluations, lesson planning, standardized testing, RTI, and data driven instruction. An instructional coach is a learner who models continuous improvement, lifelong learning, and goes above and beyond to ensure student success. The Instructional Coach works collaboratively as a team with staff and administration. He/She will promote reflection, provide guidance and structure where needed, and focus on strengths, collaboration and common issues of concern. They are responsible for ensuring high-quality instruction in classrooms through modeling, coaching, co-planning, co-teaching and providing feedback to teachers. Another important aspect of supporting teaching and learning is the coordination of the student support team and oversee the implementation of the response to intervention process. Responsibilities
- Curriculum evaluation, ordering, and inventory
- Responsible for planning and coordinating instructional PDs

- Support leadership in the ongoing development, improvement, and evaluation of curriculum, instruction, and student data management.
- Develops and implements a well-articulated professional learning plan to assist teachers in gaining a better understanding of the use of data to improve instruction and increase student achievement.
- Works with teachers to ensure student mastery of standards by assisting with data driven instructional planning, integration of technology and implementation of research-based instruction, monitor and improves the effective use of data to increase student achievement.
- Oversee RTI process to ensure all Tiered students are receiving appropriate supports that are documented according to district policy.
- Conducts grade and content level data-driven instructional meetings on a regular basis.
- Design a system of daily assessments in order to track student progress and facilitate teachers' use of data to inform instruction.
- Practice facilitating lesson planning clinics in order to be able to lead teachers in writing effective and engaging, standards-based plans that include rigorous and engaging instructional strategies.
- Utilize protocol to analyze data to differentiate instruction based on individual student needs.
- Develop data analysis protocol to be used to inform small group and whole class instruction.
- Develop and implement a plan of action to best support all students in moving the next achievement level (i.e. beginning to developing, developing to proficient, proficient to distinguished).
- Practice facilitating a lesson protocol in order to lead teachers in providing peer-to- peer lesson plan feedback.
- Practice facilitating coaching sessions in which teachers practice targeted sections of a lesson and get immediate feedback from multiple perspectives.
- Engage in team building, culture and instructional visioning, goal setting, and action planning in response student achievement, teacher effectiveness, and parent satisfaction data.
- Develop professional learning program based on school and district improvement plans.
- Prepare a variety of complex reports including State mandated reports related to assigned activities.
- Provide assistance to teachers in classroom organization, management, and instructional strategies; provides support to teachers through demonstration teaching.
- Facilitate the delivery of services intended to maximize the success of opportunities for at-risk learners.
- Stay knowledgeable of research-based teaching/learning strategies and materials.
- Facilitate meetings in which building grade level teams meet to determine and monitor student placement in/growth during teaching of core curriculum.
- Facilitate and organize problem solving teams to facilitate early intervention to learning or behavioral problems
- Serve as a resource in identifying appropriate instructional strategies and interventions to improve student achievement for all students
- Collaborate with teachers to 1) identifying struggling students and their foundational areas of weakness, 2) collaborating with teachers to develop targeted intervention plans, 3) supporting teachers with resources to enable effective delivery of interventions with fidelity, 4) overseeing all progress monitoring data collection and entry, 5) analyzing data to assess student growth and efficacy of intervention, and 6) managing the documentation of Tier 2 and Tier 3 student intervention plans in Infinite Campus for district reporting purposes • Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION
- Master's degree in Education, Early Childhood, Reading, Math or related field required.
MINIMUM CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or above from a regionally accredited college or university or an approved institution;
- Valid Florida teaching certificate or have reciprocity eligibility from another state or country.
- Masters in Education, or related certifications preferred
WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5 years' experience teaching, with a record of successfully impacting student achievement and working successfully with students who have the greatest needs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
The Instructional Coach must have strong written and oral communication, be proficient in Microsoft Office, process strong leadership skills, have a strong knowledge of literacy instruction and differentiation. The candidate must possess interpersonal skills and have the ability to create productive and healthy relationships. The Instructional Coach must demonstrate strong organizational and analytical skills with outstanding attention to detail, and have a deep understanding of early learning curriculum and instruction.
Work hours:
7:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.
