Aug 31, 2026 Job Description The Digital Learning Specialist will serve as the Pre-K-12 Instructional Technology Coach and will focus on planning, implementation, and follow-up training using the latest digital tools (hardware and software) that maximize student learning across all content areas. The Digital Learning Specialist also works cooperatively with the Director of Instructional Technology and Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning to implement system-wide technology goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
Technology Integration:
Assists teachers in planning for the use and infusion of technology in the instructional program.
  • Assists as needed with troubleshooting of technology issues related to instructional delivery.
  • Works closely with staff to develop innovative technology solutions for instructional delivery and assessments.
  • Co-teaches, models, and supports integrated lessons in the classroom by providing direct instruction to students and teachers in the use of new and emerging technologies.
  • Provides leadership, support, and training to classroom teachers and specialists for digital learning and technology integration.
  • Facilitates the development of curriculum units that fully integrate the Digital Literacy and Computer Science Standards into content areas.
  • Assists teachers in accessing a variety of materials to more effectively differentiate instruction in order to accommodate the needs of a diverse student population.
  • Facilitates data-driven decision-making to determine classroom instructional needs.
  • Assists in the use and development of makerspaces in schools
  • Stays current with new and emerging technologies and their potential applications to the district.

Professional Development:
  • Develops instructional technology solutions and related training materials for the purpose of providing users with tools needed to utilize emerging instructional technology to enhance student learning.
  • Provides job-embedded, after-school, and extended year professional development to support teachers in the integration of digital tools at the individual classroom level as it relates to curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
  • Coaches faculty on the innovative use of digital tools to enhance student engagement at high levels of cognition.
  • Facilitates communication regarding infusion of technology in curriculum, instruction, assessment and professional development.
  • Reads, disseminates, and models current best practice information to staff.
  • Participates in developing and monitoring ethical technology use and district-wide instructional technology guidelines and standards (e.g., content, relevance, effectiveness, etc.) for the purpose of enhancing student achievement. 3. Digital Learning and Instructional Technology Collaboration
  • Serves as a member of the District Technology Committee.
  • Works collaboratively with the Offices of Teaching and Learning and Instructional Technology to provide the highest quality services to implement our essential learnings and provide personalized learning experiences for students and staff.
  • Teaches students media production use, critical thinking and problem-solving skills pertinent to the information and digital literacy curriculum.
  • Consults and collaborates with curriculum coordinators to identify appropriate software and programs to support curriculum.
  • Fosters a collaborative environment among all staff.
  • Evaluates new software and hardware to support teaching and learning.
  • Enhances District community outreach through effective uses of technology.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Attend job-alike meetings and conferences to stay connected with best practices. 2. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 3. Has a sense of humor.
Terms of Employment:
School year position with up to 10 additional days during the summer.
