Job Summary:

The role of the Technology Innovator is to support the integration of instructional technology to carry out programs and activities that are designed to improve the quality of the teacher force, such as

  • Implementation of innovative professional development programs, including programs that train teachers and principals to integrate technology into curricula and instruction to improve teaching, learning, and technology pedagogy;
  • Integration of strategies that incorporate technology pedagogy with content pedagogy in a hybrid/blended learning environment.
Job Qualifications:

To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. 1. Must be a current certificated/licensed employee of the Brandywine School District 2. Demonstrated knowledge in content area teaching. 3. Strong knowledge in academic use of instructional technology. 4. Proficiency in use of technology for individual, small, and large group instruction. 5. Possess effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interface diplomatically with other teachers, administrators, parents, students, support staff and outside professional contracts. 6. Commitment to on-going professional development for self and to provide professional development to administrators and staff using a turn-key approach.

Essential Functions:

Employee must have the ability to perform the following essential functions on a timely basis with or without reasonable accommodations. 1. Lead professional development focused on district-wide technology initiatives during designated times throughout the school year. 2. Attend or Lead summer professional development. 3. Support district-wide technology initiatives in the building. 4. Participate in monthly training/planning/preparation with the Coordinator of Instructional Technology. 5. Collaborate with teachers to create rigorous, standards-based lessons based on school data. 6. Act as a liaison between district and school building. 7. Communicate and guide school towards district vision and initiatives. 8. Include district technology staff when planning school-based technology initiatives. 9. Share school needs and obstacles. 10. Convey reasoning behind district decisions to school leaders. 11. Perform basic troubleshooting. 12. Assists in providing continuity in the District's Technology Plan.
