Job Description

Innovation Coach Job Description

As an Innovation Coach, you will play a pivotal role in driving instructional support and leadership within our district and schools. Your primary responsibilities will encompass three key areas:

Instructional Support and Leadership

Support the implementation of district and school instructional vision and initiatives.

Lead school Impact Teams in utilizing the CSD Personalized Learning Framework to establish school goals and identify necessary supports, professional development, and resources.

Facilitate Inquiry Labs

Analyze relevant data with administrators to guide support for teachers and inform instructional strategies.

Collaborate with district instructional specialists to implement instructional initiatives, gathering valuable insights from instructional supervisors during monthly meetings.

Attend and actively participate in department and district meetings and training sessions.

Serve on school and district instructional leadership teams to contribute to strategic planning and decision-making.

Instructional Coaching and Professional Development

Develop coaching and professional development plans in coordination with school administrators to align with school goals.

Conduct informal observations of instructional delivery and provide constructive feedback to teachers to enhance their practice.

Plan, model, and co-teach with classroom teachers to ensure effective implementation of state standards and innovative instructional strategies.

Empower teachers to leverage instructional resources for transformative and engaging learning experiences.

Design and provide personalized professional development.

Instructional Technology Integration and Transformation

Collaborate with the innovation coach team to design and lead instructional opportunities, such as the Innovation Bus, classroom sessions, and events.

Create, update, and maintain district resources, including directions, tutorials, and technology-related job aids.

Oversee effective technology integration for staff through coaching, modeling, and professional development sessions.

Support staff in enhancing technology proficiency for students, including the functionality of learning management systems and digital platforms.

Provide input on applicable district systems (vetting applications, new staff orientation, etc.).

Additional Responsibilities

Participate in ongoing professional learning to stay abreast of current research and effective instructional strategies.

The coach will have the freedom to prioritize instructional responsibilities, supported by the flexibility needed to adapt to the dynamic nature of the role, without being restricted by ongoing non-instructional duties.

This role focuses on collaboration and support rather than supervision. As a result, it does not entail evaluating colleagues or carrying out the ongoing responsibilities typically associated with school administration.

Qualifications

Previous experience in instructional coaching or related educational leadership roles.

Deep understanding of instructional strategies, state standards, and personalized learning frameworks.

Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in leveraging technology for innovative and transformative instructional purposes.

Ability to analyze data and use it to inform decision-making.

Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
