About the Role After School Specials LLC is hiring a Part-Time K-Pop Dance Instructor to lead an energetic, age-appropriate after-school dance program for students in grades 6-8. This program introduces students to K-Pop-inspired choreography, rhythm, movement, performance, and teamwork in a fun and supportive environment. We are looking for someone who enjoys dance, music, and working with young people. You should be comfortable breaking choreography into easy-to-follow steps, encouraging beginners, and creating a positive class environment where students can build confidence and enjoy performing. Professional K-Pop teaching experience is a plus, but it is not required. What You'll Teach Lessons may include: K-Pop-inspired choreography Dance combinations and routines Rhythm and musicality Coordination and movement Beginner-friendly dance technique Warm-ups and stretching Performance skills Group formations Expression and stage presence Teamwork and confidence-building The focus is on helping students feel comfortable learning choreography while building confidence, coordination, and performance skills. What You'll Do Lead a 60-minute after-school K-Pop dance class once per week Teach choreography in clear, easy-to-follow sections Lead warm-ups, stretching, and movement activities Demonstrate dance combinations step by step Adapt choreography for different skill levels Encourage participation, confidence, and self-expression Support students who are new to dance Help students practice and improve routines Maintain a safe, structured, and positive class environment Review choreography before each session Prepare music and class materials before students arrive Assist with setup and cleanup Communicate with the program team regarding attendance and class progress Who We're Looking For This role is a great fit for someone with experience or interest in: K-Pop dance Hip-hop Contemporary dance Choreography Performance Dance instruction Youth programs After-school enrichment Summer camps Performing arts Teaching or coaching College students, dancers, performers, choreographers, and recent graduates with a strong dance background are encouraged to apply. Qualifications Strong interest or experience in dance Familiarity with K-Pop choreography or similar dance styles Comfortable teaching students in grades 6-8 Able to break choreography into simple, manageable steps Comfortable leading a group Patient and encouraging with beginners Strong communication skills Dependable and punctual Able to commit to the full 6-week program Able to reliably commute to San Anselmo, CA 94960 Previous experience teaching dance or working with youth is preferred, but not required. Requirements TB clearance Background check Ability to complete any additional school-required clearances before starting Schedule Mondays 3:30 PM-4:30 PM 6-week after-school program Starting September 14, 2026 This is an in-person, part-time position in San Anselmo, CA 94960. Compensation $40.00-$50.00 per hour Compensation may vary based on dance experience, teaching experience, and experience working with youth. Paid preparation time is included as part of the assignment.
