Job Summary We are seeking energetic and passionate Afterschool Program and Summer Camp Dance Instructor to inspire children through dynamic dance, performing arts, and creative movement activities. In this role, you will design engaging curricula, lead lively dance classes, and foster a positive environment that encourages artistic expression and personal growth. Hours Must be available between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm M-F for the Afterschool Program Duties Develop and implement age-appropriate dance and arts curricula that incorporate choreography, movement, theater, and musical elements Lead energetic dance classes Haitian folk dance, contemporary, jazz, or other styles while managing classroom behavior effectively Foster a creative environment by encouraging students' artistic expression through dance, acting, photography, sewing, or other visual arts Manage classroom logistics to ensure safety and smooth flow of activities during afterschool programs and summer camps Incorporate teaching of musical instruments or instrumental performance techniques when applicable to enhance students' musical understanding Support childhood development by tailoring instruction to various age groups including preschoolers and school-aged children Utilize classroom management skills to motivate students, promote teamwork, and maintain a positive learning atmosphere Requirements Proven experience working with children in educational or youth program settings Strong background in teaching visual & performing arts such as dance (ballet preferred), theater, music, or creative arts instruction Knowledge of choreography techniques and dance instruction methods across multiple styles Experience developing curriculum tailored to diverse age groups and skill levels Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a fun and inclusive environment Familiarity with teaching instruments or musical performance is a plus Skills in photography or sewing are desirable for integrating visual arts into programming Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate young learners Prior experience in preschool or childhood development is advantageous Join us as a Dance Instructor to ignite creativity in young minds!
