Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Dance Instructor to inspire and cultivate a love for dance and the performing arts in students of all ages for an afterschool dance program. As a key member of our creative arts team, you will design engaging dance curricula, lead energetic classes, and foster a positive learning environment that encourages artistic expression, physical development, and confidence. Your expertise will help students develop their technical skills, creativity, and stage presence while enjoying a fun and supportive atmosphere. Duties Develop comprehensive dance curricula tailored to different age groups and skill levels, incorporating various styles such as ballet, jazz, contemporary, and hip-hop Lead engaging dance classes that motivate students to improve technique, coordination, and performance skills Plan and choreograph routines for performances, recitals, and competitions to showcase student talent Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their growth in dance and performing arts Collaborate with parents, guardians, and other instructors to coordinate student development plans and special projects Incorporate elements of musicality, rhythm, stage presence, and visual arts into lessons to enhance overall artistic expression Requirements Proven experience in dance instruction across multiple styles such as ballet, modern dance, jazz or hip-hop Strong background in choreography and lesson planning for diverse age groups including children, teens, and adults Experience working with children or youth programs with an understanding of childhood development and behavior management Knowledge of classroom management techniques to maintain an energetic yet disciplined learning environment Ability to teach visual & performing arts with an emphasis on creativity, movement, and self-expression Familiarity with musical instruments or musical performance is a plus for integrating music into dance lessons Prior experience in theater or performance arts enhances ability to prepare students for stage presentations Excellent communication skills to motivate students and collaborate with colleagues and parents effectively Certification or training in early childhood education or special education is advantageous but not required Join us as a Dance Instructor where your passion for movement meets the joy of teaching!
