Are you a passionate chess player with a knack for teaching? AlphaMinds Academy, a premier academic and enrichment school for children from PreK through 12th grade, is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as part-time after-school chess instructors. We offer classes at multiple locations throughout Hoboken, Jersey City, Union City, and Newark. Instructors may be assigned to one or more locations based on their availability.

Qualifications:

Chess Proficiency:

A deep love and understanding of chess are essential. A USCF Rating of 1,300 or higher (or an online equivalent) is a requirement

Teaching Experience:

Prior experience in teaching chess to children or working with young learners in any educational capacity is a plus

Availability:

Must be available for in-person teaching at minimum1-2 days/week, within the time frame of 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm, starting in September 2026
