Responsible for facilitating weekly adaptive dance/movement sessions implementing the framework of the Moving Miracles' dance/movement curriculum. Set & Rehearse choreography that is appropriate, in line with production theme and features class accomplishments in preparation for annual May performance. Listen to all potential concerns and respond in an appropriate and timely manner to ensure satisfaction with services and safety standards. Relay any and all relevant concerns immediately to the director. Arrive to studio a minimum of 15 minutes before classes start. Attend mandatory bi-weekly or monthly staff meetings Facilitate and participate in various outreach events and community performances and engagements. Field questions, provide communication, give positive feedback to volunteers and extend gratitude to volunteers and make them an important part of the class process. Provide effective communication to parents and group home staff. Based on assessed needs may develop specific goals mindful of sensory needs and abilities in addition to program curriculum. Address and promote positive, healthy choices to our participants. Responsible for conducting initial screenings with individuals. Works adaptively with dance/movement props; i.e.: observes and evaluates individuals for potential of social, intrapersonal, expressive and adaptive dance/movement skills/technique. Assign volunteer dance partners to work with 1-2 students throughout session. Introduce and familiarize dance partners with dance students. Distribute memorandums and newsletters as assigned.
