Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and motivated POM Coach to join our high school team. The POM Coach will be responsible for guiding and developing students involved in the Pom-Pom team, fostering teamwork, discipline, and school spirit. This role involves coaching students on performance techniques, choreographing routines, and promoting a positive, inclusive environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with youth, strong leadership skills, and experience in cheerleading or dance. Duties Lead and coach high school students in Pom-Pom routines, cheerleading techniques, and performance skills. Develop engaging choreography that aligns with school events and competitions. Plan and execute practice sessions to improve students' skills, coordination, and teamwork. Foster a positive team environment that encourages sportsmanship, discipline, and school pride. Provide mentorship and support to students both on and off the field or stage. Coordinate with school staff to organize performances at games, assemblies, and special events. Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their performance abilities. Promote safety during all practices and performances by ensuring proper technique and warm-up routines. Requirements Prior experience coaching cheerleading, dance, or similar performance arts preferred. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire students. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills suitable for working with high school youth. Ability to choreograph routines and teach performance techniques effectively. Commitment to creating an inclusive and positive team environment. Availability to attend practices, games, performances, and related events as scheduled. Must be able to work within a school setting adhering to its policies and safety protocols.
