JOIN OUR TEAM OF INSTRUCTORS AT NORTH CLACKAMAS PARKS AND RECREATION DISTRICT!
North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District (NCPRD) is looking for dynamic instructors to develop and instruct recreational and enrichment classes at Concord Community Center. If you are passionate about teaching and love creating fun, educational experiences, we want to hear from you! This position is a part-time temporary, non-benefitted position. Most instructor positions will start in late August or September.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As an instructor, you'll design and lead youth and/or adult enrichment classes - such as dance, food preservation, nature and outdoor education, STEM, and more. Instruction may take place indoors or outdoors, depending on the class format. We are specifically seeking instructors with experience in areas such as Ballet, Hip Hop Funk, Latin dance (Salsa, Bachata), STEM, food preservation or similar subjects for classes at our Concord Community Center. Candidates with other areas of expertise are also encouraged to apply. Recreational & Enrichment Instructors Lead classes focused on personal growth, creativity, and enrichment. You'll design your class content and guide participants through hands-on activities in a positive, inclusive environment.
KEY DUTIES INCLUDE
Design and deliver age-appropriate curriculum based on current best practices and adapt instruction for varying skill levels Create a welcoming, encouraging environment Support and encourage participants, offering guidance and skill-building tips Communicate clearly and positively with participants of all backgrounds Enjoy being part of a collaborative and community-focused team, and are committed to excellent customer service Lead safe, engaging group classes and demonstrate proper use of materials and equipment Set up and clean up class spaces, ensuring tools and equipment are maintained and stored properly Track attendance, collect feedback, and incorporate improvements based on evaluations Enforce safety protocols and respond to emergencies as needed Collaborate with coordinator to plan and schedule classes
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of theory, principles and practices of instructing youth and/or adults in a recreational/enrichment subject or activity. Demonstrated skills and experience within your specific instructional subject. Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is a plus. Must successfully pass a criminal history background check which may include a national or state fingerprint records check.
POST-HIRE REQUIREMENT
Completion of bloodborne pathogen training within six months
For Recreational & Enrichment Instructors:
Certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid (American Red Cross) within six months of hire.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Duties require differing physical demands associated with the course content and the environment/location of the class being instructed Enrichment instructors should be comfortable setting up, cleaning up, and engaging in hands-on instruction. Physical ability to lead classes requiring the ability to walk, stand for longer periods of time, sit, stoop, bend, squat, lift, twist, reach, balance, grasp, and use fine motor skills
AVAILABILITY
Availability to teach evening and weekend classes, with some daytime availability depending on the age group served.

Pay:
