Our preschool tumbling and beginner acro programs are expanding for the 2026 season, serving dancers ages 3-12 who want to grow strength, flexibility, and performance readiness in a structured, technically-sound environment. We are not a trick-based cheer/gym program. Our goal is to develop strong movers who understand form, alignment, strength, and safety — preparing them for success in dance, performance, and beyond. Position Overview We are seeking an instructor skilled in tumbling, preschool-level gymnastics, and/or acro who can deliver safe progressions, thoughtful teaching, and confident classroom management. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with dancers, understands proper spotting and skill breakdown, and believes physical strength should come with body awareness and discipline. Responsibilities Teach beginner-intermediate tumbling, acro, and preschool gymnastics classes (ages 3-12). Prioritize safety, strength, and foundational technique over tricks without form. Create structured lesson plans that align with HDW core progressions & curriculum. Communicate with leadership on student readiness, progress, and concerns. Maintain a positive, calm, and effective classroom environment. Assist in recital/event preparation and collaborate with other instructors.
Qualifications Required:
Prior experience teaching tumbling, preschool gymnastics, or acro. Strong knowledge of spotting techniques & safe skill progression. Experience with young students (preschool/elementary level preferred). Professional, reliable teaching presence. Bonus Skills (Not Required) Experience working with dancers rather than gymnasts only Knowledge of flexibility training, strength conditioning, or dance science Ability to integrate tumbling with a dancer's choreography or performance goals Why Teach at HDW You won't be thrown into a room with mats and expected to "just make it work."
