We introduce Pre-Ballet to young dancers, ages 2-5, to the joy of music, movement, and dance, while building a strong ballet foundation. Position Summary We're excited to find a passionate and experienced Preschool Dance Teacher to bring lively, engaging dance classes that help young children develop their rhythm, coordination, and confidence. If you love working with early learners and have a solid background in dance, we'd love to hear from you! This part-time, mobile role offers the chance to visit various locations around Springfield/Alexandria, VA as a Ballet Dance Instructor. Classes are held on weekdays during the morning hours. They run throughout the academic year, from September to early June, with breaks for winter and spring holidays. Teachers are encouraged to be available at least two days a week between 9 am and noon (Monday to Friday) and should have reliable transportation to attend. Responsibilities Lead exciting ballet and creative movement classes that introduce age-appropriate techniques and terminology. Develop engaging lesson plans, craft dance routines, and incorporate music to make each session lively and enjoyable. Always prioritize creating a safe, positive, and nurturing environment where students can thrive. Maintain a friendly and respectful classroom atmosphere by using effective management strategies and adapting teaching methods to meet the needs of all children. Organize a year-end costume recital or showcase, preparing routines and communicating clearly with families and staff to ensure everyone feels included and excited about celebrating the students' achievements. Qualifications H.S. Diploma or GED Required Prior experience teaching dance to young children (three years preferred) Background in ballet, jazz, tap, or creative movement Strong classroom management and communication skills Patience and enthusiasm working with young children Reliable transportation and punctuality Ability to work independently and with a team CPR/First Aid certification (preferred) Experience in organizing and leading dance events (preferred) Benefits Class size bonus!
